The 2012 Saint Joseph Vignes des Hospices should match, or surpass, the 2011. Showing a slightly darker slant to its fruit, with lots of blackberry, black raspberry, spiced meats and chocolate, it’s medium to full-bodied, beautifully concentrated, textured, and has fine tannin that emerge on the lengthy finish. Scheduled to be bottled this coming January or February, it will benefit from short-term cellaring and have 15+ years of longevity. Jeb Dunnuck.
