Wine Advocate # 191 - Oct 2010

The 2005, which seems to exhibit much more barnyard, earth, leather, and black fruit, appears to have lost the ferocity of its tannins through its long elevage, and it is still not yet in bottle. This is a deep, rich, concentrated wine that will probably spend as much time in foudre and tank as the famed Henri Bonneau's top cuvee of Chateauneuf du Pape. Robert Parker.

A dark, slightly chewy style, with braised beef, fig paste and currant notes laced with coffee and aged tobacco. There's a dash of roasted chestnut on the muscular finish. This is a solid, brawny version. Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah and others. Drink now through 2015. 14,165 cases made. James Molesworth.

Deep red. Complex aromas of dried red berries, garrigue, Asian spices and rose. Spicy red fruit flavors are firmed by fine-grained tannins and complemented by notes of succulent herbs and smoky spices. Well-structured but not hard, finishing with very good clarity, sappiness and lingering florality. Josh Raynolds.
