Our comment

This wine originates from a monopoly of the best terroirs adjoining what were previously the Jean-Louis GRIPPAT and VALLOUIT estates. This is a unique expression of the most impressive and exclusive slopes of the Saint-Joseph appellation.

Vintages 2016

Score : 16.5/20

Le plus frais et le plus en énergie de tous les saint-joseph du domaine, un tannin bien graissé par l’élevage maison, allonge et fraîcheur finale, superbe !

Score : (92-94)

Also a mini-Hermitage, the 2016 Saint Joseph Vignes Des Hospices has more iron and bloodiness in its blue fruits and spicy, mineral-laced aromas and flavors. It has the purity and classic, elegant style of the vintage front and center, and will have two decade of longevity.

Score : (92 - 94)

Less concentrated than the 2015, the 2016 Saint Joseph Vignes de l'Hospice is still an outstanding wine. With less opulent fruit, more spice notes are already showing through, giving this more immediate appeal. Full-bodied and velvety, it should drink well on or close to release.
