Our comment

This wine is a unique expression of the excellence of the lieu-dit « Saint-Joseph » appellation and these vineyards are from amongst the very best of this up-and-coming appellation in the northern Côtes-du-Rhône. These very slopes lent their name to the Saint-Joseph appellation when it was created. The label was designed by Roger PFUND, a Franco-Swiss artist who is a specialist in the design of bank notes.

Vintages 2009

Wine Advocate #193 - Feb 2011

Score : (90-95)

The 2009 St.-Joseph Lieu-Dit St.-Joseph appears to be phenomenal. Aromas of ink, graphite, blackberries, black currants, sweet cherries, spring flowers and crushed rocks jump from the glass of this full-bodied red. With stunning purity and depth, this should be a prodigious St.-Joseph to drink during its first 10-15 years of life. Drink: 2011 - 2026. Robert Parker.

Guide Bettane et Desseauve des Vins de France

Score : 17/20

Le riche élevage apporte un poli splendide au tanin, une suavité rare pour le cru, où la minéralité est encore discrète. La plupart des bouteilles sont déjà bues, et c’est bien dommage.
